Muffin
was special because she came from a shelter when she was a kitten. She
had been returned because she had an eye problem. We took her to the vet in
the first week we had her. She was my baby for the last 16+ years. She had
kidney failure and a large tumor. We kept her comfortable and had hoped to
let her pass naturally but Muffin did have to be put to sleep. She got too
weak to get around, but we will always love her.
We have another cat three years younger and the two never got along. When we
got the second cat Muffin was about three and she did not eat for several
days. She did not know any tricks. She and I had a ritual of eating tapioca
pudding in the evening. I would tear off the lid and she would lick that and
then come to me and I would help her clean out the little container. Her
absolute favorite was yogurt. She was my cat, in later years she has been
wanting to sit on my wife because the other cat demands to sit on me. She
would come sit next to me and tap me on the arm because she wanted to lay in
the chair where I was sitting. She was a totally indoor cat. She had eyes
that glowed red when they reflected light.
I will always love her. She used to sit on my lap at the computer every
weekend and I miss her.
