Storm, the Cat of the Day
Name: Storm
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Domestic Short Hair
Home: Orlando, Florida, USA

I was born next door and when I was about ten weeks old I was taken one yard over to live. Storm became my name because I was a nonstop explosion of energy that left a path of destruction wherever I went just like a hurricane or tornado. I could easily outplay everyone in the household and still go on and on. But sometime just after my first birthday I woke up one day, took a big sigh, and decided that I was tired. No longer was I a fiery ball of energy but was content to spend my days relaxing around the house. I never did have the wanderlust and am satisfied to travel in my little circle not ten yards from home. I generally don't like to chase things (that would require an effort) but I do like to study and scrutinize all that I see. Unfortunately, this lack of physical activity has caused me to lose my girlish figure. I soon earned the monikers "Miss Butterball" and "Sweetie Pie" which exemplify my voluminous mass but as far as I am concerned that just means there is more of me to love.

Isn't my coat absolutely beautiful? My fur is as soft as the dandelion fuzz that blows in the wind. I wear a necklace with an amber gem befitting the regal queen that I am. But what most find attractive are my startlingly emerald green eyes. Gazing into them is like getting lost in the deepest green jungle or drowning in the clearest of tropical waters.

I have the reputation of being a prude and that I have a fussy, finicky, moody and independent attitude. I believe the proper term is "cattitude" of which I am a prize exhibit. I do as I please, when I please. It's all about me. However, deep down (way deep down) I have a softer side that occasionally surfaces. There are three other boy cats in the house that I preside over. They drive me nuts with their constant horseplay and running around. They try to get my goat but I just hiss and spit in their faces and they back off fast. Geez, can't a girl just have some peace and quiet?
