Well,
my parent's didn't wanna me to be lonely, so they let me adopt a
pet. Before, we used to live in an apartment that wouldn't allow pets.
Since we moved to these condos and my parents bought a condo where dogs
and cats are allowed, I got to adopt a cat! Since this is my first time as
a pet owner, I think one is enough for me to care for.
I went to two different humane societies to look for a kitten to add to
our family. At the last humane society I went to, I saw lots of kittens,
and most of them were napping in the afternoon, including Jasper. But when
Jasper heard someone comes in to the kitten room, he immediately woke up
from his nap. In the cage there a black cat with him, and Jasper just kept
sticking his paw out of the cage to me, and he walked back and forth in
the very front of the cage, wanting me to touch him! So I knew that was
the cat I wanted! He is sooo sweet! Therefore, I went to the front desk
and filled out all the application process to adopt Jasper. At that time,
Jasper was six months old.
The first day I brought him home was on a Saturday. He just had gotten
neutered on that day, so he was weak at that time. He was very shy the
first day I got him home. So I put him in the bathroom for a little while
to get him used his new home, with the baby gate placed so he can hear the
sounds of the house but still feel secure behind it. And two days later, I
took the baby gate away from the bathroom so he could go around the house
anywhere he wanted. And he did come out of the bathroom and sniff around
every room, on the cat stand and on beds too! Even though he still shy
around strangers, he is very close to my parents and me. Every time I pet
him, he purrs, and his purring is soft and quiet. Every morning I wake up
and he immediately waits for me in the bathroom. As soon as I open the
door, he gets down on the floor with four legs up in the air, showing his
tummy and wanting a tummy rub. Which all three of us do every single
mornings after we wake up! He needs belly rubs!
Jasper is a sweet gentleman. Sometimes he doesn't like to be held or
cuddling, but I still do that and he just lets me do it as long as I want,
he doesn't bite or hiss at me.! And talking about trim his claws, he will
lie down right on me and I'll trim his claws when he is napping. He is
such a well behaved boy.
He is a handsome boy and I love him so much. And I hope I'm a good pet
owner and raise him well forever!!!!! Plus, he is a inside cat, we never
allow him to be outside because we want him to be safe. He is wonderful...
we treat him like a king! And he always sleeps with me every night and
keep me company!
