Hi
my name is Gizmo! I am a male long hair orange tabby and I am almost
one year old. My birthday is May 2nd 2009 and my daddy got me for his
birthday last year. Dad says I was small enough to fit in his coat pocket
then, but I am sure not now!
I have many nicknames including: Mojo, Giz, Gizzy and Batman, the last one
is because I like to use my dad's recliner as my "Bat cave" where I go to
hide, snooze and to store things that are precious to me (like bottle
caps, cat toys, balls and small knickknack ornaments that I stole from my
mom's Christmas village). I get really mad when dad goes in there though,
he says its 'cause my stuff is making his chair not work, but I think its
just 'cause he wants to steal my loot!
Since I lead a very busy life when I get tired I pass out. I will sleep
anywhere, I am not picky, but I especially enjoy it when one of my kitty
brothers or sisters will curl up with me! They think I hog the napping
space, but I think they just don't realize how big I am, I need space.
My bestest friend in the whole wide world is a puppy named Lady. She has
looked out for me ever since I was a baby. She and I play every day, but I
don't like it when she chews on my (gently) and gets my fur all wet! She
will even snuggle me but she won't share her food with me.
Thank you for ready my story and looking at my pictures. I think I am a
pretty special boy, and I can't wait to see what kind of adventures I have
now I have turned one!
Gizmo is now at a stage where sitting still for picture taking is not his thing.
I don't know if he's part Maine Coon, although he is a big boy. He was a free
kitten we received and we don't know much about his parents. He's already way
bigger then our other male cat though! Gizmo is a very curious, fearless
cat. If you tell him no, he will look at you like he is weighing his options
before deciding to listen or to risk the repercussions and keep doing what
he's doing. His favorite game currently is to shred toilet paper (obviously
this is not our favorite game!). Last week I came home to find that he had
discovered where we keep the toilet paper and he had shredded four rolls! His
other favorite game is to lay on top of our big finch cage and watch them
flutter back and forth. He cannot reach them inside the cage (and doesn't try)
but he loves to watch them.
Gizmo is also a very friendly cat, he will snuggle with anyone in the house or
anyone who comes to visit. He does have one favorite person, but is generally
loving to everyone.
