Siren
is sweet, lovable, likes to be held like a baby, loves kisses and
cuddles, loves to nuzzle against my face, and is just the most affectionate
cat I have ever seen. He is gentle, and sooo loving. Siren is now six months old.
Siren was originally named Easter (because we got him on Easter day), and we
initially thought he was a girl cat, because we got him so young we couldn't
determine his sex yet. So young, in fact, that we had to bottle-feed him
(such a pleasure, a joy, a privilege to do so). After a short time with him,
his cute baby cry sounded like a fire engine's alarm, hence "Easter" became
"Siren" very quickly.
Every morning (without fail!), as I put in a new pair of contact lens (I wear
dailies, so I have the little plastic containers to open every day), Siren
waits patiently at my side for me to place the empty plastic lens case on the
corner of the sink, and then he jumps to swat if off. We do this for the left
and right eye cases. If it falls into the sink when he swats it, we get to
play again. He loves this game and never misses it. We must have dozens of
cases around the house!
Other sweetness from Siren:
- He loves his "Cat Dancer" toy and is learning to do a backward somersault.
- He raises himself up on his hind legs and waves his front paws like "King Kong".
- He cuddles with his stepsister, Missy, and they are the best of friends.
- He nuzzles my husband's neck, and gives him "hickies", sucking on his neck, then promptly falls asleep.
- He loves to get into supermarket paper bags, and then lets us pick him up like a specially bought package from the corner store!! We got him for free, but he's worth millions!!
- We made a video of him when he was a baby "sirening", and when we play it, he comes over to the computer to listen, quizzically looking at the speakers.
As I originally said, he is gentle, loving, so, so sweet. Unbelievable. My
heart just aches with love for him. All of our cats are special, with unique
and loving characteristics (we have four now), but Siren is the gentlest, most
loving, and, we believe, an Easter star!
