This
little kitty is certainly something special. I saw an ad in the paper
for ten free kittens. I drove out to the middle of nowhere to a small horse
farm, and met a poor mommy cat with ten mouths to feed. She was just about
kicking them off! It was so hard to choose, all these kitties had great
markings, and it looked they were all a happy bunch. I picked this little
girl because of the black patch on her chin, I thought it was very charming.
We became fast friends. She kept me company always, she is the kind of cat
who will follow you all over the house, and bat at the back of your heels
while you walk, or jump up and hug you around your calves, and you can drag
her around. I quickly made her an indoor/outdoor cat, I live in a safe
neighborhood, and there's no reason she should be cooped up all day. I have
a crab apple tree in my back yard, and I spend afternoons throwing apples
and watching her chase them. She loves to sleep in shoe boxes, although she
is getting much too big, and hide in my drawers. She'll stay there all day.
She also loves jumping into the dryer as soon as it's opened, onto the warm
clothes, and getting them covered in cat hair.
She does have a couple bad habits however! She hates drinking out of her
dish, and would much rather drink out of your water glass. It got so bad
that I had to start using water bottle all the time. At night if I left a
water glass on my bedside table, it would be toppled over with a wet rug or
clean pile of soaked laundry. Sometimes she gets her head stuck in the cup,
and all I can think is "you asked for it!"
When I first got her, she would meow outside the bathroom door when I was
taking a shower, and she would come in, and get into the shower with me,
she loved the warm water, and running the length of the tub chasing
nothing. She is original, and I love her to death!
