We'd
like you to meet Austen - a very fine cat indeed. Having just lost our
beloved Maine Coon cat to cancer, we needed a new friend for our lonely and
bereft Tom Kitten. We are fortunate to have in our vicinity a lovely and good
woman who takes in abandoned and abused animals of all kinds, heals their
wounds, and finds good homes for them. All prospective adopters must be
visited by one of her staff to see that the pet is going into a safe and
healthy environment!
After visiting many wonderful cats and kittens there, Austen made himself
totally irresistible, and home he came. He is a dream kitty - melts in our
arms, gives us kisses, and is a great pal for our Tom K. - although they do
get into mischief together and have been known to "disturb the dignity and
repose" of a tea party or two. As you can see, they will also sleep snuggled
together, which is adorable.
He is like a dog, in that he will jump up on our legs to be picked up and
cuddled. He's just the cat's pajamas, and we feel so very fortunate to have him.
