I
rescued Cookie and her three siblings when they were a month old. Their mother
had been killed by a very mean person and the kittens were starving under the
home of two mentally challenged women. Knowing I love cats, the women came to
me crying for help. I was 6-1/2 months pregnant at the time, so the two women
had to catch all the kittens for me.
I brought them home and they were surprisingly in very good shape but so
hungry. A friend took the one male kitten in the litter and another woman took
two of the females. That left one female. My husband and I decided to keep the
kitten, so our baby would have a kitty he could grow up with (most of our
other cats are older) and we named the kitten Cookie.
Cookie had other ideas. Though she loves me and doesn't seem to mind our son,
she is attached mostly to my husband. I call her his girlfriend. Cookie is
sweet and loving, and if we scratch her back her tail turns into a question
mark. Cookie has also bonded closely with another cat here, named Pixie. Both
Pixie and Cookie are very mischievous, so when they get together they are
partners in crime!
We love Cookie so much and are so glad we kept her. That was one of the best
decisions we ever made.
