Ever
since I was a little girl, I dreamt of having a kitten. I remember
spending long hours at my best friend's house playing with her two cats, never
wanting to return home for dinner. I carried around life-like cat dolls, and
even put collars around their necks. I constantly pestered my mother to allow
me to have one, but she always refused. After years of consistent nagging, my
mother finally granted my wish on my 21st birthday (better late than never,
right?). We all rushed to the nearest humane society an hour before closing
time, our excitement barely contained. We walked into the cat adoption room
and saw two bright green eyes staring at us, and we immediately fell in love.
Since the day we brought her home, Mia has brought so much joy to our house.
Even my mother has fallen in love with her, and enjoys cuddling with her on
her lap. Mia has several bursts of energy throughout the day, scampering from
room to room and pouncing on whatever she gets her paws on. She makes all of
us laugh, and we don't know how we lived without her! Her double paws make her
even more special, we like to call them her "mittens," which are nothing but
adorable. She loves lounging in the sun or cuddling up on a warm lap while
purring her lungs out. She never ceases to make me smile, especially when she
runs over with a big meow when I return home from a long day at work.
