Miss
Kitty (a.k.a. Pretty Girl) wandered into our truss shop on a cold fall
day over two years ago. Homeless and fairly thin, she first lived exclusively
in the shop. Soon the office staff discovered this beautiful, friendly cat
and we invited her into our office. We took up an employee collection to pay
for items needed for Miss Kitty, including vet appointments to have her shots
and spaying. Since that day she has become a permanent member of our work
area, our companion and mascot. We no longer have a mouse problem and she has
become the belle of the building!
Miss Kitty has a wonderful, affable personality and she visits everyone at
their desks throughout the day; laying indiscriminately on papers, house
plans, files and other important work. She sleeps on top of file cabinets,
desks, and as you can see from the picture, in our outgoing mail basket - much
to the delight of our mail lady. Miss Kitty knows just when to sit on your
paperwork and refuses to leave until she hears the familiar sound of your desk
drawer opening where she is sure to get treats from many of the staff members.
Miss Kitty has brought up the office morale tremendously as no one is immune
to her charms and affection. It is such a delight to come into work Monday
morning and see her sitting on the reception counter, waiting to greet each
and everyone one of the office staff with a dainty meow and sparkling green eyes.
