Hello
& Meow! My name is Lexi, let me tell you about myself. First, I don't
remember what happened to my kitty mom or what my life was like as a newborn
kitten. All I do know is, I was just a little thing when I ended up falling
out of a tree onto some little kids waiting at a school bus stop, September
2005. They took me to their house, but their mom said I couldn't stay with
them and she brought me to a place where there were lots of other kitties, big
and small. (The Fort Knox Vet Clinic and Stray Animal Shelter) It was kinda
scary, but the humans cleaned me up, gave me medicine for my worms and fed me
yummy food. Oh and they had Air Conditioning!
Different human people would come and take some of the kitties to their
forever homes, but no one picked me. Finally a lady and her teenaged daughter
came into the kitty room. I knew it was my chance to find my forever humans.
So I loved on that girl; climbing on her shoulders and purring up a storm.
Of course she fell in love with me and I went home with them. I have a big
sister cat, Jade. She is shy and only likes our human mom. But I like
everyone. When the doorbell rings, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I
run to the door, waiting for it to be opened so I can greet our visitors.
Oops, I think I lied to you all. I like everyone except the Vet people. I
can tell by the smell that's where I am and as soon as I get out of my carrier
in their office I hiss, spit and try to bite them. They always wanna look in
my ears, and in my mouth and touch me everywhere. Then they give me shots.
Silly humans! Besides that I'm a happy go lucky kitty.
My humans think I'm a bit strange though. I like to sleep under the covers,
at the bottom of the bed and I love when my human dad spins me around on the
kitchen floor, I get all dizzy, it's great fun!! If my human mom doesn't pet
me when I want her to, like when she is doing dishes or making dinner, I will
bite (well really nibble) on her ankles to get her attention. Sometimes she
will spray me with water to get me to stop, but it doesn't bother me, I just
groom myself and come right back to her.
Oh and I have taken it upon myself to try help my sister Jade to lose weight.
She is chubby, so I chase her around the house at least once a day. Up and
down the stairs, through the house and back upstairs. It's great fun. Then
I groom her. She has problems reaching her back, so I clean it for her.
Being an Army cat means I had to get used to hearing and feeling the loud
bangs, booms and explosions from soldiers training here. I don't even notice
it anymore. I'm also doing my part to keep the US safe by watching the
birds and squirrels outside the dining room window. You never know one of
them may be a terrorist. Trying to steal all our catnip! I keep hoping I
can go outside again to chase them, but Mom says I'm an inside cat, so I am
not allowed. I tried to tell her that I have a microchip, so if I get lost,
I will make it back home. Or that I'm just trying to keep the US safe. But
she isn't going for it. So I just have to be happy playing with my furry
mice and Jade. Well it's naptime, and that sunny spot in the bedroom is
looking good. Meow to everyone!
