This
is Helo, our little adventurer. There is never a dull moment in this
guy's life. Abyssinians (Abby's) are known to be extremely active,
intelligent and affectionate, and Helo is no exception. He is either on the
go exploring, chasing his brothers, or purring like a motorboat in our arms.
He was the last addition to our brood of three Abby's. We brought his older
brothers, Turbo (7) and Charger (6) home from a trusted near-by breeder, but
our Helo was a "surprise". While I was out of town, my husband received a
call from our breeder explaining that another Thunder Bay couple had taken him
home, but their son had had multiple severe allergic reactions to him.
Learning this, our breeder agreed to help find him a new home, and immediately
thought of us. When my husband heard the story, there was little hesitation
to agree to welcome a third addition to the family. I, on the other hand, was
surprised during my arrival back home to a small, sweet and fun-loving kitten
in my husband's arms and the words "Can we keep him honey?" How could I say
'no' to that?
It has definitely been a challenge, having three such energetic, time-consuming
cats, but every time Helo jumps into my lap and rubs his little face all over
my neck to tell me he loves me, I know he was meant to be part of our family.
