Phoebe
and I live in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. My
partner and I adopted Phoebe from an animal shelter, she was tiny - the
smallest kitten there. I remember seeing her just sitting quietly in the cage,
while all the other kittens were all meowing loudly. We just looked at each
other for a moment, it was as if she was quietly pleading to me 'get me out of
here.' When my partner picked her up she immediately started to play with him,
that was it we new this little feisty kitten was coming home with us.
Phoebe had a rocky start health wise and for the first two years of her life, it
required numerous visits to our local Vet. It was then I decided that Phoebe
was going to be an 'indoor cat' - well, most of the time. Outside she will be on
a lead connected to a harness, which she took to very quickly. The lead idea
was mainly for her own protection, from cars, dogs, non-cat people and to
protect the native bird life that frequent our garden.
Phoebe has grown into a loving (when she wants to be that is); energetic;
fussy; quite vocal at times, but always having an individual personality and I
hope, a happy pussy cat. We love her to bits.
