Sophi
is a Norwegian Forest Cat who is Blue and White in color and the love
of our lives. She knows that she is beautiful because I tell her many times
every day that she is the most beautiful girl in the world. Sophi has never
damaged anything in our home. She does not jump on countertops etc. We think
that she is the perfect cat. Although her two brothers were very special to us,
they died. She and we were devastated to lose them.
Sophi has had more than her fair share of health problems. We treat her like
she is our baby. There is nothing that we would not do for her.When she quit
eating and drinking two years ago we fed her every three hours with a syringe through
a tube surgically put into her neck. We did this for four months before she
started to eat on her own again. Now every day we rub a creme based mixture of
Prednisone into her ear to help with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease).
Sophi does not like for me to brush her, she grooms herself and does a great
job of it. She is on massive doses of Prednisone every day that we rub in her
ears since she hates to take medicine by mouth. She is eating very well since
her bout with IBD two years ago. Sophi is very Independent. She sleeps on the bed
between our pillows and wakes us by gently patting us with her beautiful
hairy paws when she wants to eat or wants attention. She loves sitting on the
window benches and watching the birds and the many stray cats which we feed.
She especially likes the Yellow Finches and the Cardinals that come to her
bird feeders. Sophi has her favorite toy which is a furry Teddy Bear the has
catnip in it... she sleeps with Teddy a lot. She also likes to play with the
rings off of milk jugs. Sophi will be nine years old on August 4th, 2010. We
love our Sophi very much and cannot imagine life without her.
