This
is my cat, Olive. She is my three year old, dilute calico cat from Long
Island, New York. I adopted Olive about a couple months ago from my local
shelter. She was a stray who was strangely social and caught my attention as
soon as I walked in to the room. Immediately, Olive took over my room and made
it her own. I have four other cats in the house who were not happy to see her
and still have not fully accepted her in to their "kitty gang." She came in to
the shelter infested with fleas, worms and she hit three years old without ever
being spayed! That's more than any of my other house cats have ever had to deal
with, so I think of Olive as my little trooper. She's a tough cat, with a big
heart for humans.
When I have friends come over, she's quick to welcome them by rubbing her body
on their leg unlike most cats who shy away from unknown humans. My favorite
thing about Olive is the way she scrunches up her mouth and nose when I pet her
under the chin, it's just the cutest thing I have ever seen. Her striking, big
green eyes and her personality, that reminds me of an energetic, bouncy little
girl, gave her the name Olive. Despite little Olive's random eye twitches and
her excessive, loud, odd meows, she's just about the best cat that has ever came
in to my life. She sits on my lap as we speak, watching every letter I type.
