We
got Sasha as a kitten of 41 days old. She spent the first day with my wife in
a pocket on the front of her dress. My wife says she was the size of a coke can.
She spent the first few weeks living in my wife's sewing room and had her own
bed. Our other cat, a large male tuxedo, wasn't very friendly to her at first
and we were afraid he might hurt her. She was so small. She was my wife's cat
and the tuxedo was mine. After a few weeks my wife went out of town for four
days, and by the time she came back, Sasha had become my kittie.
Since then, she has been my constant companion. She sleeps with me every night
on her special pillow and fleece blanket. Sometimes she will sleep between my
knees or on my pillow against my head. When we go to visit our son or daughter
(in different cities), she always goes with us. She loves to go camping in our
travel trailer.
Sasha is strictly an indoor kittie, but we do have a screened in porch with
multiple shelves that we built for the cats. She goes out there often, and I do
take her in the back yard with me two or three times a week. She is so good. She never
climbs over the fence or under it, and when I call her to come in, I just pat my
leg and say "Come Sasha" and she runs right in the door.
She hates to go to the vet, and hisses and growls at everyone. Her "Calico
Catattitude" definitely comes out then.
Sasha is the princess of our house, and has her daddy very well trained. She is
an extremely affectionate and beautiful kittie, and is extraordinarily devoted
to me. It touches my heart. Every morning she stays on the bed with me until I
get up, and then gives me licks on my neck and face brush-byes. She loves tuna
and her dry food, including treats. Catnip is a favorite also, and sometimes she
likes to chase an elastic string with a plastic jug seal attached to it. She
also likes to drink water from the running faucet.
I can't imagine life without her. She gives me so much love and makes me smile
and laugh every day. It is easy to give her lots of love in return.
