This
is Mia, who I rescued from a shelter few months ago. Mia was about two years
old when I adopted her and had been living in the shelter for approximately a
year. Before the shelter found her, she was a stray.
Mia has a sweet personality and loves to sit on my lap when I'm reading or
watching television. After a particularly good petting session, Mia will roll
onto her belly... she loves belly rubs!
Mia also loves to chase the laser pointer around my apartment, although she gets
puzzled when the red dot suddenly disappears. She also loves to play in her
paper grocery bag, as you can see from her picture.
When she is not playing, Mia spends hours staring out my patio window, making
friends with the squirrels that wander by. She even got into a staring contest
with a particularly large raccoon one night... fortunately, Mr. Raccoon has not
been back since.
Mia also guards my apartment vigilantly from any invading bugs and spiders. One
night while I was watching TV, Mia was staring at my ceiling fan and started
meowing. Because Mia is not normally a "talker," I went over to investigate and
found a yellow jacket sitting on one of the fan blades. Mia saved both of us
from getting stung in our sleep!
Mia loves her new home and I love my new furry companion!
