We
recently adopted three pets, including Miss Greywacke. Clearly from the
pictures, she can see into your soul. She was named after a grey mineral
by her foster mother. Her twin brothers are orange tabbies named Aengus
(socially dominant/purr machine) and Grendel (stoner cave beast - really).
All three were left by the mother cat on their foster parents' porch after
being weaned and were causing serious end of life quality issues for the
two dear geriatric cats in the house. Thus we adopted them.
Greywacke is diminutive compared to her brothers. She is very dainty eater.
Even her wee meow is dainty. Her domain is the upstairs and that is the only
place she allows herself to be petted, in particular she likes to be under the
bed. She needs to be petted, like now, when you are either at the computer or
getting ready for work. Like her brothers, she is soft as down. She only eats
under the table, while her brothers eat out in the open. Sometimes she will
weave in and out of your legs only to run under the bed when you reach down to
pet her. Despite her strange ways, she seems to sense when you are sick before
you know it and comforts and cuddles with you when you are feeling low.
She is just as energetic about extreme play fighting as her brothers and can hold
her own with the boys. They also obsessively groom each other and sleep
together in one great cuddle puddle. Though I've only had her and her brothers
for three months, I can't imagine life without them.
