Mika
is special because she is such wonderful addition to our family. When we
got Mika, it was because one of our dear Cardigan Welsh Corgis had become ill,
and passed away. Our two remaining dogs were rather lost. They didn't play
like they did before. I had grown up in a home with cats and dogs who played
together, and was confident that a kitten would make everyone happier - except
maybe my dear Husband, who is allergic to cats.
But it has turned out wonderfully! Mika seems to think that she is a dog, and
she stalks and leaps onto the backs of the corgis like a lioness on the
Serengeti Plain. Mika gets regular baths, which she takes stoically. And
while she can't sleep with me or hubby because of allergens, she can sleep
with the kids when they are back from college, or even with the dogs. So even
the allergies are happy! My husband is more of a dog person, but he loves
playing with Mika. The dogs love playing with Mika. And I enjoy having a
cuddly cat to hug!
