Kat
is a rescued cat - not a pure bred. What makes her special is that she's
constantly entertaining us. She does the silliest things. In the first
photograph, she's yawning, even though it looks like she's ferocious. In the
second, she's funny because every single time we enter our bathroom, she races
us, making us trip over our own feet, just so she can get to the bathroom
faucet. She loves to drink from it.
She's a nutty cat. When we first rescued her, she was a tiny little white ball
of fur. She was so loving and cuddly. But then she started licking the fur off
one spot on her body and we had to put a collar around her neck and bandage
the wound. After that, she changed. She doesn't trust us as much. She's always
with us; she just won't crawl on our laps anymore. My husband and I both work
at home, and she likes to be in the same room with us.
Her favorite game is hunting and wrestling with socks (swiped from the laundry
room) and little beanie babies. She's quite the hunter with them! She tosses
them up in the air and then rolls around with them. Her hearing is fine, too!
She has a funny idiosyncrasy: she insists on having someone sit with her while
she eats. To achieve that, she'll lure us in there with her. She'll hurl
herself on the ground, as if she wants to be petted, but once we crouch and
start rubbing her, she gets up, moves a few feet closer to the food dish and
then hurls herself down again, repeating the maneuver until she's got us right
there, petting her while she eats.
Our favorite thing - she's always waiting for us to come home. She must go from
window to door all around the house in anticipation, because she's always
right there, watching, her head doing this funny duck and weave maneuver.
We love her so much!
