Buzz
is a fixed male who loves sleeping on the top of a bookcase. He also
will only drink water from a glass, as he hates a 'floor' water dish. He
answers to a whistle and loves to play laser pointer chase. He is our
second cat - and likes his 'roomie' just fine.
Buzz was a 'throw away' kitten. We found him in a pile of leaves by a
brick wall. It's a terrible thing to toss away a kitten. We fed him and
got him healthy. When we took him for shots, the vet guessed he was about
ten weeks old. He got fixed. Nowadays, he is long and lean. He likes both
dry and meaty cat food.
As far as character, he has a wonderful sense of humor. For instance, if
you get up from a chair or couch, he will immediately take your place.
When you come back, he will give you a pathetic look... and try to guilt
you into leaving him there. When you pick him up, he'll go totally limp
and moan, yes, he is very vocal.
First thing in the morning, he will meow loudly to announce that it's time
to feed him. If you head for the bathroom, he will get up on the sink and
meow constantly until you get his breakfast. He can be quite persistent.
He is a mellow kitty and loves to have his belly rubbed. He will purr like
crazy. So far, he just won't break character and bite or scratch you. When
the belly rub is over, he will just grab your hand and hold it... no
claws. I find this amazing. He loves his scratching post and tears it up often.
Outside he is very active, usually trying to avoid the neighbors'
three-year-old. He loves to climb trees and is able to get back down by going
down tail first - he actually backs down a tree. Never seen a cat do it
like that before. He loves dogs and tries to befriend them. He will
actively play with them - tag, which he loves. When he wants back in, he
will meow very loudly and bump his head against the screen door.
Buzz is a lap cat. he loves attention and petting. He sleeps at the foot
of our bed at night for a while. Then he'll patrol the house. He also
likes to get up on the roof and patrol for doves. I don't think he's
caught one yet. I really like him. Usually I'm not much for cats, but he
is such a character that I'm just thrilled to have him as a buddy.
