Magellan
is a very happy cat, he has the sweetest nature. He loves to be
spoken to and he listens to everything you have to say quite attentively. It
is very rare to talk to a cat and have them hold eye contact the entire time.
The only thing that can distract Magellan is the possibility of food, which is
his biggest weakness, he just loves food. Aside from food, Magellan loves to
play with his two adopted brothers, Angelo (ten years old) and Galileo (three
years). Although Angelo usually has no patience for Magellan and ends up
warning him with a growl or hiss, Magellan never gives up and always attempts
to give him a kiss, he's always the optimist. He loves to give his baby
brother Galileo baths and they play, wrestle and always have fun.
The most special thing about Magellan is that he is a sensitive cat. He
always senses when someone in the family is hurt or sick or sad and always
tries to make them feel better by giving them a cuddle. After I came home
from my knee surgery, Magellan laid in bed with me for three-days. The first
24-hours he would not even leave my side for food (that is amazing since food
is his favorite thing). After that he would take a quick trip to his bowls for
a nibble but return right away to keep watch over me. The first time I
attempted to go down stairs, he walked with me, next to my crutches, step by
step pausing on each stair, not leaving my side, very patiently until I made
it to the first floor. Magellan kept watch over me throughout the first week
and eventually when I was no longer using crutches he decided I was well
enough and he could return to his normal schedule. Magellan is a very caring
animal and we are very lucky to have him.
