Mandy
came to live with us when she was just a year old. She was a barn
cat at a farm, where we got her. We also got her sister, who had brain
damage and was killed by a car soon after we got her. She was a very
loving and playful cat even from when we first got her. She enjoyed
chasing rubber bands around the house, killing miscellaneous creatures
such as squirrels, rabbits, rats, lizards, and butterflies. Even when she
was old, she still acted like a kitten. She was constantly hungry for more
food, and was overweight at one point before she went on a diet. She was a
very motherly cat. She washed the faces of all of the people in the household.
One Friday in November, she started acting lethargic and wouldn't eat or
drink. At first, we thought it was her mouth that was sore. She slept most
of the day Saturday and Sunday. Our other cat, Sandy, would sit by her and
give her comfort while she was sleeping. On Monday, November 24, the vet
determined that she had a tumor near her liver. When she did surgery on
her, the tumor was discovered to be wrapped around her liver, pancreas,
and other internal organs. She was put to sleep soon afterwards. Mandy was
a very special cat to all of us and was very much loved during her life.
