Shortly
after we moved to Florida, we saw an ad in the paper for free
kittens. We wanted a companion for our then four-year-old cat, Bonkers. We
went to the house and there seemed to be 50 cats running all over the
place. Monty was the only cat that kept coming to my husband, no matter
what he did, so needless to say he is the one that left with us.
As Monty gets older he is really becoming affectionate. He always has to
sleep on my feet, but who can complain - he is so warm. He went for an
accidental swim in the pool one day and we found out he really wasn't as
big as he appears, there was so much water in his fur, it took three beach
towels to dry him. Of course he had jammed himself under the bed and we
had to drag him out to dry him. Even though he had that extremely
frightening experience of falling in, he still thinks the pool is his
water dish, he just leans over the side and drinks.
We sometimes call him Fluffy, look at that tail. When he meows it comes
out as a squeak which is always so surprising for someone of his size. Out
of the three cats that live here, he is the most calm probably because all
he has to do is put one of his front paws on the other cats heads and they
can't reach him. Monty is a very special part of our family and we love
him very much!
