Please
meet my wonderful and beautiful, sweet kitter girl, Ms. Bittie! This
girl has many names: Honey-girl, Palsy, SweetPie, Chickadee, Bittle-Bittle!
She is just a doll. There couldn't possibly be another kitter in the whole
wide world as special as she is to me. Her fabulous personality and demeanor
has just blossomed overwhelmingly! By far, Bittie is the most special of any
kitter I've ever had the opportunity to meet. She's the queen of them all and
my lifetime pal!
Ms. Bittie's story started out on the streets of Orlando, Florida where she
was born. One evening driving into a diner parking lot, a mother kitter was
sitting atop a storm drain. She wouldn't move even though the car was coming.
Bittie and her brother Syd were down in the bottom of the drain. This
particular evening it was starting to rain and you just knew it would soon be
a real downpour. Knowing the kittens would drown if left in the storm drain,
the diner employees were asked for help to lift the heavy drain cover off to
get the kittens out. So the mother and kittens were taken in on that rescue
mission that night. The mother was beautiful and a really sweet Tabby. You
could tell the father of these kittens had to be Siamese. As it turned out in
later years, I found out that Ms. Bittie was a Lynx Point Siamese Tabby and
that this breed was much sought after. I feel really blessed to have her as
she is so meek and mild, easy going, has never offered to bite ever, just a
really pleasant, happy mannered kitter. Even if you try to make her get riled
up, she just won't!
Ms. Bittie was a normal frisky kitten that would play her heart out until she
would just collapse herself to sleep. Always very playful and vocal (sometimes
too much), her Siamese genes shine. She can carry on any conversation with you
you'd like but she always has to have the last word. When the phone rings, she
will start talking all around when she thinks you've talked long enough. She
will also carry on vocally like this when any computer is turned on or used,
knowing all this takes away her attention. When my sister or mother calls on
the phone, she will somehow hear it's one of them. I have to hold the phone for
her so she can carry on a conversation with them. It's just too funny!
Of course I think Bittie is highly intelligent, above and beyond most kitters.
She has a whole assortment of meows that usually tell you what she wants or
needs or to let you know what's going on. She has even saved me twice so far,
once from an electrical fire and once from flooding water. I would have never
known about either if it hadn't been for Bittie telling me.
Ms. Bittie is older now but she still has her jet, panther-like run through
the house every day, loves to play with her fuzzy mice and many toys, plays a
great game of ball and hide and seek, and wherever I go, she goes. At night
around 10:45, she will come to tell you it's time for bed. She starts off each
night on my arm by my pillow, sucking on my shirt sleeve, and then goes under
the covers. She's just so precious and the love of my life. I'm so very glad
God has given her to me for whatever time allowed. I will cherish her always,
now and forever for she will always be special to me.
