I
want to introduce you all to my baby. Her name is Banshee (a.k.a. Her
Majesty). She got the name, because of her unique howl, and meow. She's a
beautiful jet-black Domestic Short-Hair. She celebrated her 19th birthday on
February 28th and I live with her in Margate, Florida.
I've had the pleasure of being "owned" by Banshee since she was eight weeks old. I
found her at the ASPCA of Baltimore. It was love at first sight. I've had some
tough times, and my baby has been by my side the whole time. I call her my
Miracle Kitty. About twelve years ago, I was in the hospital and my parents were
taking care of her. My Dad left for work one morning and Banshee, the escape
artist, made a mad dash out the door. She was gone for a week and a half. I
came home and went door-to-door, and wandering through the woods searching for
her. I was absolutely heartbroken and in tears the whole time. I was terrified
because she was in an indoor cat in an unfamiliar area. Banshee was nowhere to
be found. One day I told my parents to put some of her favorite catnip on
their doorstep in the hopes she'd find it familiar. Lo-and-behold, the very
next morning when my Dad left for work, there she was on the doorstep. My mom
called me, and without even getting dressed I drove over there. I walked in to
find her just lounging on my mother's couch like nothing was wrong. It was a
miracle that she was brought back to me. That was also the last day that
Banshee ever went without a collar and a tag. I learned that lesson well.
Today we live in another state, where she has her own screened-in patio to
watch the birds and lizards. I love her to death! She is unique, loud, fun to
watch, and my absolute baby. I'm proud to be owned by her. I hope you all like
her as much as I do!
