Hi,
my name is Milly. My parents adopted me from the Cat Protection Society
in Enmore two months ago. I live in a big house with two brothers Max and Jack
who are much older (three years) than me. I don't know what it was like before I
came along, but I rule the roost now. I'm pretty smart too. When I arrived I
taught my brothers how to use the cat door. I got it the first time, they'd
had it for months!
During the day I play around the house and in the garden whilst my brothers go
on adventures. Sometimes I climb up trees and get on the roof but I always
come down. I mostly like to stay inside where I have this cool multi-level
cubby house. I like to lay on the top. Sometimes my brother Max gets there
first but I just squeeze in all the same.
Max is my favorite brother. The Vet said it was highly unusual for an adult
cat to bond with a kitten, but we're best of mates and I'm always lying on my
brother or curling up for hug. He was scared of me at first but now we play
lots. We chase each other from one end of the house to the other and up and
down the cubby house. Sometimes when Max gets me in a headlock and it hurts I
squeal. As soon as Max hears me he releases me and jumps back to make sure he
hasn't hurt me. He's a great brother. My other brother Jack is really,
really big. In human terms he would be 6 feet 6 inches tall! He pretends he's
tough, and in the beginning he used to hiss at me, but he's cool now and he
plays chasey with me too. He will always protect me and Max against other
neighborhood cats if they get into our back yard.
At feeding time, I am always fed last which I don't think is fair so I run
around my Mum's feet crying out to be fed straight away. It hasn't helped
yet, but I keep on trying all the same. I am also fed in a separate room, Mum
said it was because I kept stealing my brothers' food. I've got a pretty high
pitched squeal, I guess Mum doesn't understand cat-speak because I'm very
vocal at feeding time - and any other time for that matter (especially first
thing in the morning when I wake up).
I generally like to follow my Mum around. When she's on the couch I sit on
her lap, when she's working on the computer I like to sit in front of the
screen and chase the mouse. When my Mum is showering, I like to walk around
the edge of the bathtub. After Mum has finished her shower, I jump in the
bathtub and play in the water.
Bedtime is heaps of fun at my house. My parents have a huge king-sized bed so
we can all fit. I usually curl up with Max whilst Jack lies longways between
my parents. In the morning I crawl under the covers and lean against my Mum
because she's really warm. My motor purr wakes her up but she doesn't mind.
I have a great life, I love my parents and my brothers and I know that I am
very much loved. It's tops being a cat in our house.
