Molly
is very friendly and enjoys playing, exploring, climbing, attention, and playful biting.
She's very social, but not often in a lap cat way. She's more into always
being around, interacting, purring and getting petted but always moving,
circling, exploring. When I get home she's right on the other side of the
door, immediately rolling on her back to get her belly rubbed. She's very
curious, she likes to get up on the desk when I'm using the computer and watch
the screen (she's learning not to step on the keyboard.) Whenever I open a
closet she will jump right in. She's not really disruptive but likes to
participate in just about everything, in her own way. She is very
affectionate, likes nose to nose contact, and being scratched under the chin,
but again, likes to keep moving.
She likes scratching cardboard boxes but not cardboard scratchers. She loves
sisal. She'll wake me up in the morning at her usual feeding time if I try to
sleep late, sometimes with a paw in the face - the only time she didn't do
this recently I found she had got herself inside a wicker hamper, the lid
closed. She will play fetch with a catnip mouse or fish for a while -- I can
toss it and she'll bring it back to me, until it ends up under something. She
will start this game herself, dig out a toy that went missing days earlier and
want to play. Her other "trick" involves climbing something that is I'm
trying to discourage her from climbing.
It's only a matter of time before she'll be able to open the kitchen cabinets.
She has the right idea already, but isn't yet strong enough for it to work.
Molly is now two years old and has certainly grown, but is still very curious,
friendly and loves to play. She enjoys "stick and feather," and "fetch" with
a little fish or mouse toy. She likes to climb, especially if she's thinks
she's not getting enough attention. Sometimes, watching TV, you will see a paw
over the top, then a nose, then the other paw as she scales the back to steal
the show. She can be very vocal at times, especially if she thinks you're
sleeping through her breakfast. She will knock my glasses off the nightstand
if it comes to that. At other times she could teach us all a thing or two
about napping.
