This
is my little snow bunny, Piper, who just turned two and lives in
Juneau, Alaska. He is the sweetest, best natured cat I've ever had the
pleasure of knowing, yet he has just the right amount of "devil" in him to
make it interesting! I picked him out of six to seven kittens available at
the shelter and I wasn't sure why - he didn't seem that smitten with me,
we didn't really want another male cat and neither my husband or I had any
particular affection for Siamese, but for some reason I was drawn to him.
I loved how soft he was and I loved his coloring - it looks like cream
blending into a cup of coffee. Once he arrived at our house all our fears
were allayed as he got busy exploring and making himself at home and he
has owned our hearts from that moment on. A few months later we added a
dachshund to our family and Piper and Oscar are great friends. He loves to
wrestle and play with the dog and he loves to engage us in play as well.
This includes lots of peek-a-boo games, where he does the sideways hop
down the hall to "find" us.
We recently added a tiny little kitten to the mix and from his first
introduction all Piper wanted was to be Timmy's new best friend. I have
never added another animal so seamlessly, there was not one hiss or growl
involved. The cats are mainly indoor, but they do enjoy supervised visits
outside. As seen here, our handsome boy was having fun in the snow!
Besides playing with Timmy and Oscar, and play dates outdoors, he also
very much enjoys his food bowl as evidenced by his ample girth. It's also
great fun waking us up at night after he's been locked out of our bedroom
for a while. As annoying as that is, I always melt when he comes purring
up to me, just wanting some snuggles. He is very special and we just love
our Petey Piper!
