This
is Callie, doing her own "sit and stand all at once" pose on the stairs. (Image below)
She got the name Callie before we adopted her from a work-place buddy trying to
find a good home for his girlfriend's cat. She's a good ol' American Shorthair, and
a real born and raised Texas gal, living in Lantana, Texas.
Callie is a bit of a bluff - she is huge but turns and runs if even slightly
unsure of the situation. She knows the difference between FedEx, DHL and UPS:
she runs away from UPS only we are not sure why. Perhaps, she was
UPS'd at one time before we had her? A true bed hog, Callie will wait until
everyone is mostly asleep then pounce on the bed and nudge everyone to where she
wants them to be.
She opens doors with her paws - when you least expect it (never when you
are looking). She has a room clearing glare - she likes to play with a
feather toy and "tackles" it!
Callie has one odd characteristic - she polishes shoes. Nobody knows quite
why, but at the end of the "service" I compliment Callie, and she seems
satisfied; so I presume that was what I was supposed to do! Good job, Callie!
