About Us
Kricket, the Cat of the Day
Name: Kricket
Age: One year old
Gender: Female
Kind: Domestic Short Hair
Home: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

My name is Kricket and I was rescued, a friend of my parents discovered me on one of the coldest days in May of last year. I was not in very good shape, I had a severe cold and eye infection.

My Dad wasn't sure if he really wanted a new cat as they had just lost their two pets months earlier within a week of each other, however once he laid eyes on me he couldn't resist. This picture is from when I was a kitten.

I love my new home and my family very much, they are really good to me and have taught me how to play fetch. Some of the other family members are really fascinated by the way I will go and bring back my various toys for my family. One of my favorite toys since I was small and able to carry it has been a bottle cap from water bottles. My family makes sure there are no sharp edges to hurt my mouth. I find the bottle caps are very lightweight and with my small frame were very easy for me to handle.

Now that I am much bigger I enjoy playing with my various other cat toys, however the bottle cap is still my favorite and I can now jump high and catch them. I also really enjoy sitting on my window perch and watching the birds and squirrels, and climbing on my new cat house with all of the various hiding places and swing.

I am so glad that I was rescued by my family, as they all love me very much.
