Lucy
is so special to me. She is waiting by the door for me when I come home.
She follows me around, talking loudly but sweetly most of the time. In the
early evening when I set down to watch some TV, she comes around, 'screaming'
as I call it, jumps in my lap and sleeps for a little while. I like the
companionship when she wants to sleep on the bed with me, but it doesn't work
out most of the time because she likes it best between my feet. In the middle
of the night I turn over, and she is a solid brick; immovable. Her colors are
so beautiful. Bright blue eyes, streaks of cream mixed with the blue-grey. I
think I like the fact that she talks so much. She always announces herself
when she enters a room. She knows when I'm home for lunch and will stay close
until the tuna is served. While we had the monitor in the picture, she loved
to sit on top of it - warmth and security and closeness to me. Another warm
spot that is her favorite in the winter time is on top of the satellite
receiver inside the cabinet. It seems impossible that she would be able to
jump up into that small space, but we've seen her do it. Warm or not, one of
her silly behaviors is the fact that if a box or bag or backpack or case or
anything close to the ground shows up in the dining room, it won't be long
before Lucy is found curled up on top of it.
If anyone has any insight into her specific breed, I would love to know about
it. What I put down is really just our guess. If I could clone one animal, it
would be Lucy!
