About Us
Toast, the Cat of the Day
Name: Toast
Age: Four years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Tabby Cat
Home: Strasbourg, France

   Hello

My name is Toast. I am a tabby cat. I will be five on 1 September this year and I live in a village outside Strasbourg in France. I am the most spoilt cat in the world because Ado and Michael cannot resist me. I weigh six kilos which is really a bit much, but like I say they can't resist me and I'm told I have a lovely cuddly belly.

I own the house and everything in it. I own the garden next door as well which is causing some problems with the new cat in there as he seems to think he owns his own garden. Silly!

I like to get brushed every evening when Ado and Michael come home before I wander outside and see what's new. When I come back I miaow up the stairs to let them know I'm back and that they can come down and feed me. Then I go upstairs to the bath because I'm thirsty. They're usually quite good and turn on the water but sometimes I have to shout at them to let them know I'm in the bath and waiting. I never tell them when to turn the water off, that's up to them to notice that I'm no longer in the bath. I like to play on the sofa. They keep changing the sofa covers, I don't know why, but I quite like getting to grips with new material! There are lots of climbing frames for me around the house, but I prefer the sofas. My favorite toy at the moment is a plastic seal from a tub of cream. Hours of fun!

In the evening I keep watch at the window for all the village cats who are allowed out. I'm never allowed out after dark. Then I lie on Michael while he's watching tv. I usually get settled just as he's thinking of going to bed, but he won't disturb me, so he just goes to bed later.

I only lie on Ado at night time, preferably starting at about 2 am when she's in a deep sleep. If she doesn't wake up I just stand on her chest and gently wake her with my paw until she opens her eyes. I can do non-gently as well but I save that for the morning, and usually for Michael, when I want to get up. After I've had a cuddle with Ado, I move over to Michael's pillow. Sometimes I have to really insist that he moves over, but most times he knows I'm there and moves to the edge of the bed for me. He doesn't look very comfortable, but what I can do, I'm a cat and I need my space.
