I
was a feral three-month-old kitten trying to survive in the beach dunes
when I met my Mom. After three months of daily feedings and long cat
conversations, I finally trusted her enough to go in the house. After
that, I knew I didn't want to be an outdoor cat. I go out to a screened
pool enclosure to watch birds and catch lizards, but most of the time I'd
rather stay in the house and take catnaps and play on the stairs with my
little furry mice.
Mom named me Piglet after the "Winnie the Pooh" character because I was
too small for such big adventures. As a kitten, I was still feral and
afraid of everything except Mom and Dad so I hid in small places and often
needed to be rescued. Now that I'm a big girl, I'm very curious but still
timid and get scared easily. I hide whenever the doorbell rings and there
are strangers in the house. I usually come out after they leave, but if I
don't, Mom and Dad come looking for me. When they can't find me Dad plays
"Amazing Grace" on the harmonica. It's my favorite song and I always come
running to him and sing at this feet.
I'm very vocal. I have lots of different meows to tell Mom and Dad what I
want and Mom and I still have long cat conversations. I'm very sweet and
affectionate. I love to nuzzle Mom's face and arms with my nose and head
butt Dad and wrap myself around his legs. I like to be close, get combed
and have the top of my head and chin scratched. But, I don't like to be
held or sit on laps and I really hate it when Mom touches my fluffy white
belly.
I have the best Mom and Dad! Most days we hang out together, talking,
playing, and eating treats at lunch time. They have lots of nicknames for
me, but I like it best when they call me Pretty Girl. My life is so purrfect!
