This
is my beautiful kitty, Ava. I love her and my two other kitties soooo
much. I got Ava from a local animal shelter in May of 2007. At the time,
there was a character on Grey's Anatomy named Ava and I thought it was a
great girl name. Anyways, she stood out from all the other kittens in this
cage and I asked to hold her. She cuddled up in my arms and it took me
only a few minutes to decide to take her home. I brought her home to our
new house that my husband and I had moved into a few months before. I
thought with all this room, what better way to fill it than with another
baby! Ava and her brother took immediately to each other becoming the best
of friends. My oldest, Molly, could care less, just another pest!
Ava has been the light of my life since I've had her. She is the third
non-lap cat, only allowing me to show her affection when she sees fit. She
loves to crawl into everything, which makes for good pictures; bags,
boxes, lunch boxes, suitcases, etc... It has to be newly put out though,
or it gets boring. The laundry basket is one of the best. We can drag her
around in it and turn it in circles and she loves it.
My husband made our back porch a kitty kingdom complete with kitty door in
the window, numerous perches, a swing, and even kitty steps and ramps. Her
favorite is the swing which she sits in for hours. She does have a bad
habit of scratching on my wallpaper even with all the wood on the porch to
scratch on, so I have slowly been replacing the wallpaper with good old
painted walls which don't have the same feeling as peeling off wallpaper.
The ugly wallpaper that came with the house had to go anyways, I see it as
her motivating me to actually do it! I hope I have Ava for a long time. It
lights up my day to come in and have her meow at me and look up with those
big blue eyes. All her little quirks and personality make me smile and
laugh every day.
