This
is Merry. I adopted her several months ago, and she has been a great
companion to have. We got off to a bit of a rocky start while getting to know
one another during the first month, but we've developed quite a friendship
since then.
One of my favorite things about her is how she runs to greet me at the door
each time I get home. She's my quiet, little sentinel that holds down the fort
while I'm out, who then dashes to the door when I arrive - except if it's
late, then she'll trudge to the door with this hilarious sleepy look on her
face instead.
Not only is she very loyal, but she's also very intelligent. She knows how to
open doors on her own by reaching up and pulling down the handle in order to
open them! She also knows how to give me some "paw" when I extend my fist out
to her.
One of our favorite pastimes is watching TV together while I'm on the couch
and she's in her gift box. She can spend hours sitting in it! Otherwise, if
she's not taking a catnap, eating, or watching TV with me, she's playing with
one of her toys. Her favorite seems to be pouncing on some of the mouse-like
toys or chasing after her jungle ball teaser. All in all, it's clear she's
gotten comfortable in her new home, and it's a pleasure having her around to
keep me company.
