Taffy, the Cat of the Day
Name: Taffy
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Tabby Cat
Home: Everett, Washington, USA

I think my cat is special because whenever my mom says "Taffy, let's go wake up mama!" Taffy comes in my room and jumps on my bed to wake me up. Also, she is so lovable and soft that you just want to cuddle her all day long. She loves to go outside and loves eating catnip. Although, she does bother our other cat a lot by attacking him and sometimes he gets nervous with Taffy just next to him, but still they are nice to each other. For example, they take turns lying on the black chair (which they both love).

It all started when my mom and I were going shopping for a little bit. She offered to get me one of my Christmas presents either before or after Christmas and I chose before. So she had me guess what it was. We arrived at a building which I had no clue what it was called. When we got there I had already guessed a ton of things so I said a cat for a joke because it's not like I did not want a cat of my own, but I never thought that I would get one at age 7. That moment my mom said yes and I was so happy that I had no words to explain what I was feeling.

Anyway, when we walked in the doors of the Everett Animal Shelter, there was a guy with a box full of kittens and Taffy was in that box. A couple minutes later my mom and I went to the room where they keep the cats that are up for adoption and I looked around. I remember seeing Taffy and her family and a family of Persian cats. Once I saw Taffy, I knew that I wanted one from that family. So I told my mom and the lady who worked there that I wanted one of those and pointed. The lady asked me if I wanted a boy or a girl and I said girl. The lady found a girl and handed her to me. I sat on the chair with Taffy in my arms. I knew from the heart that she was the one that belonged to me. We sat there together while I said names out loud to her. I started with Taffy then said names like Candy and Debby but I knew that the name Taffy fit her perfectly. So the lady that worked there took her to get spayed, and we picked her up the next day. She is definately the best present that I have ever got in my life. She is lovable and sweet and soft and just purrfect!
