This
is Twinkie's story:
Twinkie saved our lives when he adopted us when he was about eleven weeks
old. I think everyone who has loved a cat knows that they pick us, and
they allow us to be their family and live with them! Therefore, I'm sure
that's how the Twinkster would put it. We had gone to a local haven for
kitties run by a rescue group because we were going through a dark,
painful time in our lives. We had just lost our twin boys of nearly
eighteen years within a five week period, both to cancer. We missed them
so, we couldn't stand to come home to the empty house. We didn't want to
be there at all, as everywhere we looked there should have been either our
Whisky or Frisky... but our house was empty.
We went to the shelter to lighten our spirits. Who can stay down when
watching kittens frolic and cats at play? We ended up going back that same
evening... and this time when we arrived home, we had a cardboard box
filled with a cream-filled sweet... Twinkie!
Twinkie helped us endure and survive a time in our lives that was full of
pain by giving us reason to smile again. He made our house a home
again... and quite simply, brought the joy back to our lives. We are
forever thankful to him... and we love our boy soooo! Oh - did I forget to
mention how gorgeous he is? He is!!!
