Emma's
servants are Charity and Toby a.k.a. Mumma and Daddy. Emma is
special because she lives on borrowed time. Found, near death, in a
co-workers barn at just weeks old; no doubt cast out from the litter,
Emma's battle began. She maintained survival by eating grain off the
ground in the barn. She was scooped up and brought into a loving home
where she was nurtured back to health. At the time she was discovered,
Emma was suffering from conjunctivitis, upper respiratory issues and she
was severely impacted. My co-worker (angel and savior) Mary, as well as
her daughter Caitlin, worked day and night with Emma and at times felt
it may have been a lost cause. They didn't give up on that little kitten
and soon she was eating, drinking, playing and washing herself for the
first time.
I thank Mary and her daughter every time Emma and I cuddle, every time
she does something cute to grab attention, every day. She loves to play
hide and seek, loves to catch her little frisbee, sit atop our hutch (as
seen in this picture), and never passes up an opportunity to "flop" down
on the floor, stretch out and tell you how hectic her day was. "Now that
you're home, you can cater to me!" And that's what we do! She's our
angel, our miracle, our beloved Emma.
Special thank you to Mary and Caitlin!
