This
is Reggie, an uncommon alley cat, and the senior kitty in our
household. He was adopted from the local Humane Society at about one to two
years old and we have now had him for twelve years. He's an indoor cat who
enjoys chewing electrical cords, splashing in toilets, biting
houseguests and planning his frequent escapes. When he gets outside, he
rolls around on the cement, eats a few weeds or leaves and checks out
the garden. Reggie is an extremely amiable cat (except for his
intolerance of houseguests), who will allow himself to be stuffed into
dollclothes, boxes, wastebaskets, etc. When any basket is available,
even if it is meant to be an Easter basket, Reggie occupies it himself!
He's a cuddler and purrs loudly - not much of a meower, but he makes
cute purring-cooing sounds. He was an only cat until the age of ten when
we adopted a young feral cat from the country of Oman (that's another
story altogether). We were surprised that Reggie accepted a second cat
so readily. He is now back down to his young adult weight and is much
more active and kittenish, due to constant teasing and pestering by his
brother, Caesar. We love our kitties - they are a constant source of
affection and amusement.
Always adopt two cats!
