Poppy, the Cat of the Day
Name: Poppy
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Red Tabby
Home: Tracy, California, USA

This is my kitty, and her name is Poppy. Her name was given to her by Tracy Rescues Shelter. I am very much a cat person and my then-fiance (before we got married last June, we took Poppy) wasn't a cat person. I used to have four cats when I lived with my parents. When I moved in with my fiance, I didn't have any cat and I begged him so badly. He gave up and said OK.

We came to Tracy Rescues Shelter to look for cats. I gotta admit I wanted a kitten but my fiance saw a nine-month-old red tabby who looked so thin and she seemed so sweet. He fell in love with her, told me to look at her and I looked at her, I wasn't sure about her.

The lady explained to us what happened to her. Poppy was around three months ago and she was abandoned by her mother, she walked alone on the road. She got hit by a car, broke her leg. Cut her eye, and broke her two teeth. One tooth had to be pulled out. She had a case and stayed in a cage for two and half months! She had to have a pin inside of her leg and her leg was healing and walked really good after three months.

I was in shock. Why? Six months before her accident, I had been in a car accident with my fiance, broke my leg in two parts and had to have two pins. I couldn't walk for four months with case. I walked really good. I felt she had a bad experience like mine! I held her and looked at her. In that instant, I fell in love with her and I decided to take her home.

She is very sweet cat. She always greet to the strangers who come to visit. My husband and I are happy to have her. She loves to sleep on our chests or in arms. Even she sleeps on my lap while on computer or watch the TV. She is amazing cat. Many people fell in love with her and they are in awe when they hear the story about Poppy that is so like mine. We were meant to be together.
