Ashley
showed up in my yard last year and hasn't left. I'm not a cat
person but who can resist those baby blues? She was spayed and is in
excellent health so someone took very good care of her and then
abandoned her. Or maybe she just wanted to move in with me! In any
case, I can't imagine life without her now.
Ashley is not only beautiful but friendly, adaptable, fearless,
sociable, resourceful and as calm as a cucumber - even after having been
accidentally locked in a closet all night, she sauntered out with nary a
meow. She will greet any new person with a leg rub and a roll, asking
for a neck scratch, without even stopping to give you a sniff. She's
not much of a cuddler but she loves to curl up at my feet at night,
though she will have no problem in abandoning me for the feet of anyone
else spending the night.
Ashley has a few quirks - she will only drink water out of the bathroom
sink, so I always have to leave it full for her. She only eats dry food
that I have to mix specially for her. I bought her a nice scratching
post but she prefers to use a wicker plant container. She patrols the
yard from the middle of the flower bed, but she has a light step so the
flowers seem to be OK.
I'm so lucky she chose me!
