Mia
is a special kitty (aren't they all?) - she's our "Gato Negro"
Kitty. She came into home after a visit to a local shelter, The Little
Shelter, in Long Island, NY. She was seven months old when we got in January
07, and has grown to this black beauty since. She replaced a wondeful
cat tuxedo cat named Mindy, who passed away in November 06 after sixteen
years of being with us.
We nicknamed her 'gato negro' because she sometimes will hang off of us
with her legs outstreched over our arms when we hold her, and she looked
very much like a cat on a wine box that uses a black cat on the side as
a logo, named "Gato Negro." Very whimisical and of course reminded us
of silly Mia.
Here Mia is lounging peacefully, wondering why a lamp is pointing at her
from our book shelf. I caught her and quickly set up a camera on
a tripod and got this and a few other shots.
Mia is a very active cat, demanding our attention when ever she can get
it to play with her, take her outside (we walk her on a leash), let her
wander in our basement or the garage. She will talk back to us when she
doesn't get when she wants and has different vocalizations for her every mood.
