Albie
adopted my parents early this spring. I wanted to show the world
how beautiful and cute he is! He showed up skinny and pathetic and
loving to help my mother with her gardening. He's obviously a house cat,
and we believe he was abandoned by one of the neighbors who left town
suddenly. It wasn't long until Albie talked his way into regular meals,
and he is now a semi-permanent feature of their screen-house.
We think Albie is a Ragamuffin (mix probably). He matches the
description with his silky coat that never tangles, toe "tufts,"
ridiculous tail, and a sweet, overly tolerant temperament.
An interesting thing about Albie is that he seems to have come from a
Spanish-speaking household. We usually speak English, but have found
that Albie purrs when my father calls him gatito (kitten) or bueno
(good), or anything else in that language.
He's a darling cat - follows my mother around like a little puppy, and
thinks that any and all activity in the kitchen must pertain to him. His
favorite toys include long skirts and dead-bird simulators. We can't
imagine who would want to just boot out such a wonderful creature, but
we are happy to be his new adoptive family.
