Hi,
my name is Tux. I was a seven month old stray when I adopted my Mom,
Dad and my big brother, Sammy (a Collie/Shepherd dog). Mom thought I was a
funny little guy because I sucked my thumb (Mom says I look like I have
little mittens on my paws). She thought it was adorable so I still do it
just to keep her happy. I kind of like cuddling with her. She holds me
really close, just like she would a human baby. Sometimes she even rocks
me. That's cool. My big sister's dog, Honey-Brown and her cat, Indy-Anna
live with us too and I have two feline sisters. Cydni is twenty years old,
which from everyone's reaction, must be something really special. Olivia
is only eighteen but everyone seems to think that's pretty neat too. They are
sticking around because we all get a lot of love and attention around
here.
My parents are retired and there aren't any little kids living with us,
but my sister's kids (I guess they'd be my niece and nephews) come over a
lot and they give us lots of attention, especially our niece, Kelsey. She
likes to feed us when she comes over so that's her job when she's here.
I've got a great life here and I try really hard not to cause any trouble.
I'm pretty good. Once in a while I knock something over but Mom and Dad
usually don't get too mad. Once I knocked a big TV off the cabinet. Wow! I
thought Dad would have a fit, but the TV still worked so I got out of that
one.
Yes, I've got a good life here. I guess I really know how to pick a
family. Mom has so many friends that absolutely love animals and they all
fuss over us when they come over. Mom used to do volunteer work for the
Humane Society. I really feel blessed to have chosen this family to live
with. I think they kind of like me too! (Note from parents: We love you, Tux.)
