About Us
Dusty, the Cat of the Day
Name: Dusty
Age: Eight months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Domestic Long Hair
Home: Athens, Georgia, USA

Dusty is very special in so many ways. She is my first pet. My husband and I adopted her in November of 2004. We were very glad that she adjusted very quickly and became part of our family easily.

When we come home from work, she's right there to greet us. She'd walk right to us to let us pet her for a few minutes while she purrs. She sleeps at the foot of our bed. We love her so much that sometimes we end up sleeping diagonally because she takes up so much space.

She loves to hang out by the windows to watch the birds eat, drink, and play in our back yard. She also spends time in my husband's fish room watching and chasing the little fishies in the tanks.

My favorite part of her is her fur because it is so soft. I always rub her under her chin, around her ears and neck. I am sure she does not mind that even one bit. Not only is she very pretty, but she is very sweet and a very well-behaved kitty cat as well. She does not claw or scratch anything in the house except her scratching post or our hands when we play but it's ok because she does it in a gentle and playful manner.

It's like we have a little kid in the house. All of her little furry balls and furry mice are scattered on the floor. She likes to play hockey or soccer with the balls. She acts like the mice are real. She's very funny.

She really brings a lot of love, laughter, and smiles around the house. Whenever I feel angry or frustrated, I just put her on my lap and we both watch the birds outside and all the bad feelings just melts away.

We are so in love with our cat, Dusty. That is why we treat her with a lot of love and care like she does us. We're going to continue to give her a life she deserves - one full of happiness, love, toys, food, and cat treats.
