I
had been looking for a kitten after my cat, Jerzey, died last year. I
went to the local humane society with a friend of mine and my friend
ended up falling in love with Mariah. I on the other hand wanted a
kitten so didn't really consider adopting Mariah. Then my friend asked
one of the worker's where they got Mariah. Turns out, she had been owned
by a U.S. Marine that had been deployed to Iraq to fight in the war, so
the Humane Society took her in to find her a new home. When I heard that
story I just forgot all about getting a kitten and started paying
attention to Mariah and ended up falling in love with her as well. We
left that day and came back a few days later. She was still there so I
ended up adopting her. She is so beautiful and funny to watch. I'm so
glad that I adopted her. She is a very special cat. I just wish I could
let her previous owner know that she is doing great and is in good hands.
