We
rescued Fluffy last year from Petsmart on my daughter's birthday. We
lost our cat to a stroke and our children were heartbroken. I saw an ad
on PBS saying that a local chapter that does Maine Coon rescues was
going to be at Petsmart, and they had shown an orange Maine coon that my
daughter fell in love with. The rescue organization featured didn't show
up, but there were other rescue organizations there, and we spotted
Fluffy. Her name then was Wendy. She had recently been rescued from the
local animal shelter where her time was almost up, as she had a litter of
kittens which they had found homes for, but not her.
We fell in love with her, renamed her (more appropriately) Fluffy, and
she has been the best kitty, very loving, ever since. She knows she
found a great family, sometimes my five-year-old leaves the door open and
Fluffy just sits there and smells the air! I think she knows we love her
too much for her to ever want to leave! Certainly this beats the
uncertain life in a shelter any day. We love Fluffy!
