Turbo
has been with me for over fifteen years. He was an eight-week-old
(apparently born on the Fourth of July) stray kitten who wandered into
the fire station one day and adopted me. The first few years of Turbo's
life were spent with a Doberman named Max. Turbo didn't like him at
first, but they soon became best friends. Turbo grieved for two weeks
when Max died.
About two years ago my wife and I discovered that Turbo is now diabetic.
He is now on a special diet, gets an insulin injection twice a day and
is doing very well. His weight has returned to his normal 20 pounds and
he doesn't mind the shot very much if we give it to him at mealtime.
Turbo spends his days sleeping in a variety of places and looking
forward to mealtime, in support of his huge self. He likes to sleep in
bed with us most nights and has his own footstool to help him jump onto
the bed. On days when he is feeling ambitious, he spends a few hours
updating his web site (Turbo's Purrsonal Web Site).
