This
is our grandcat, Emmylou (named after one of our favorite singers).
Our daughter adopted her from a local shelter three years ago. She keeps
both grandparents and her human mother hopping. There is no doubt who
rules the roost. When Emmylou is on the prowl around the house at
night, no one sleeps. She will even rattle the wooden blinds to wake us
up.
We have wonderful butterflies this time of year, and she loves trying to
catch them in the flower beds. She will not always come inside when you
call her, but we know she is never far away. If she is hiding in the
ferns, all we have to do is take her food bowl to the porch, pour a few
bits in, and the sound brings her charging to the door. Of course, she
is loved, and we think she is the prettiest cat in the whole world.
